A former Daly City elementary school teacher’s aide faces life in prison for allegedly taking photos of a naked student on campus, a prosecutor said.
Wesley David Cole, 37, of San Bruno, has been charged with child pornography and molestation for allegedly sexually abusing a student between March 26 and Dec. 18, 2025, according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.
Cole worked at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Elementary School for 15 years as a teacher’s aide for special education students, serving most recently as a one-on-one teacher, Wagstaffe said.
While staying at an Airbnb in Reno, Nevada, in April Google detected Cole searching for child pornography. Google disabled his account and notified the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office who then alerted San Bruno Police Department, the DA said.
Police notified school officials before executing a search warrant on Cole’s home and phone on May 5 at 7:30 p.m.
During the search, officers found 15 explicit photos of the victim naked in pornographic positions in the school’s “decompression room” — a designated space where students go when they feel overwhelmed.
Cole remains in jail on no-bail status. He is scheduled to return to court on September 23.
